THE LIGHT OF THE WORLD

Hey Beautiful Soul, Light Up!

FOCAL VERSE:

“You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden.” – Matthew 5:14 (NIV)

DEEP REFLECTION:

Our focal verse (Matthew 5:14) speaks to us as the light of the world. This light is not about physically carrying a torch, but rather about portraying good character wherever we are. Good character includes being peaceful, loving, self-controlled, caring, patient, kind, faithful, and gentle. When we display these qualities, we reflect God’s light to others, showing them the importance of living in such a way. By doing so, we help reduce the chaos and distractions in the world.

Reflect on how someone smiled and appreciated you when you offered help. That moment brightened their day, and that is the light you showed. Continue with these good deeds this week and let them be your priority, for no law is against such things.

SOUL PRAYER:

Our Father in Heaven, we thank You for our lives and for opening our eyes to see Your wonderful light. Our prayer today is that You help us reflect Your light as You have tasked us. Shine through us to the world. Thank You for answering our prayer. In Jesus’ mighty name, we have prayed, Amen!

INTENTIONAL EXERCISE:

Each day, try to portray at least one of the aforementioned qualities. Gradually, you will become accustomed to it. Not everyone may accept the changes in you, but that doesn’t mean you should give up. YOU CAN DO IT!

READING PLAN:

Monday: Matthew 5:16 – Make someone smile because of a good deed you did. Be genuine, and you’ll find joy in it as well.

Tuesday: 1 Peter 2:12 – Maintain your good conduct among all people, even when others try to discourage you.

Wednesday: Psalm 36:9 – Christ is the source of our light. Let us reflect His light through us to the world.

Thursday: Acts 13:47 – We are appointed as lights to the nations to proclaim the Good News and bring salvation. Today, tell someone about Jesus, the Savior and Light of mankind.

Friday: John 9:5 – Be the light in your family, workplace, school, and every gathering. Let darkness flee because of the brightness of your light.
