DAY 4
The fruit; LOVE.
“So we have come to know and to believe the love that God has for us. God is love, and whoever abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him.”
1 John 4:16 ESV
Partnership with the Holy Spirit.
DEEP REFLECTION:
From agape to romantic, there are many forms of love known to humanity. Well, it is not an error to love and to be loved. As humans, it is safe to say we all crave companionship and care all around.
The Bible makes it clear that before Christ Jesus ascended into Heaven; He promised His followers a guide, comforter, teacher, etc. He knew that we can not do this life alone in a world full of trials and difficulties. Thus, the Holy Spirit was gifted unto us.
The Holy Spirit is not an “it” but rather a “person”. A person who comes along with pristine fruits which serves as propellants in our life’s journey with God. These fruits make us better as individuals and exposes us to the nature of our creator. In a world full of divisions and misunderstandings; decide to purposefully seek the Holy Spirit to exude love towards all you come into contact with. Our maker exhibited love by sacrificing His only Son in order to restore us back to Himself (John 3:16).
Let us therefore go out there and love our fellow humans as ourselves. Offer care to siblings, friends, loved ones and other people within your environment. There is no harm in giving someone who thirsts for water a cup or bottle of water. Neither is it wrong to dish out food for a hungry neighbour when it is within your means to do so. The lovelier the atmosphere/environment, the better the humans that live within it would be.
SOUL PRAYER:
Dear God, help me to understand what it means to exhibit the fruit of Your Holy Spirit. Expose me to the understanding of what it means to love — Your way. Strengthen, guide and order my steps in this perilous world. I want to know Your Sweet Influences and be a partner of Yours from this day forward. Amen.
INTENTIONAL EXERCISE:
Find a serene environment; think about how you can exhibit love to all who come into contact with you.
