Dad

A life well lived!
And you must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your strength.
Deuteronomy 6:5 NLT
Growing up to see my Dad so in love with Jesus made me wonder who this "Jesus" was. I decided to love Jesus because I loved my Dad and his choices for me had been the best.
I remember how my Dad made so many sacrifices just to make Jesus proud. I remember how people referred to my Dad as "a man after God's own heart".
My Dad always said... "Kingdom business first". He had a drawer filled with envelopes that were named as such.
But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
Matthew 6:33 KJV
Daddy, you set a precedence to put God first and we all inherited your love for God and humanity. You did your very best to provide for the family and made sure we had the guidance we needed in every area of our lives. You found it easy to love and taught us how to appreciate the good things in life. You taught us to share in many interests and passions.
You had so much time for us and God. You also seem to have had everything under control. I was a big fan of your consistent, sympathetic support and encouragement. You listened to my heart and tried to answer all my questions whenever you needed to. You were a man of few words but the passion you had for life; displayed a true gift of communication and you used it well! Actually, you loved talking about Jesus to everyone you met and would talk to anyone. You genuinely treated everyone with the same respect. It didn’t matter who they were, it made no difference to you since their souls were your major concern.
You were identified as a man of strong principles because you were strict, orderly, thoughtful, diligent, loving, honest.... at heart. You enjoyed simple pleasures. You pursued purpose with genuine love and a clear vision which always resulted in great satisfaction.
Your demise was a big blow.

Losing you was difficult.
Your absence created a vacuum.
Memories of you are breath taking.
And I miss you.
In the process of watching you love Jesus, I fell in love with "the Jesus my Dad loved". My heart got broken when I lost you. I lost you to something that I believed was your heritage in Christ Jesus. I saw how God used you to heal many diseases and sicknesses. Thus, I believed that healing was supposed to be your bread. Yet, sickness took your breath away.
After you died, I questioned Jesus why He did not heal you because you loved Jesus so much. I didn't receive any answers about your demise but in my quest to get answers to my multiple questions; I found the Jesus you loved for myself in a different way. Of a truth, I completely understand why you loved him that much until death.
Now, I fall in love with Jesus daily.
Not because of you, my Dad ;
But because I found love in Jesus!
In Christ, I found life and love.
I'm happy I chose to do this life the way you, my Dad did.
Not because I was forced to,
But because it is definitely worth it!

Even though you showed us that Jesus was the only way and answer; you and mum were always there for us in times of crisis. Your positive outlook, unending patience and ever-willingness to help meant that a solution was never far away.
For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.
Romans 1:17 KJV
Dad, you were an incredible man. Your example has set a high standard for us to live up to. Your values and principles will continue through us all.
I am proud and glad I had you as my Father, friend and covering.
Thank you Daddy for showing me the way.
I do not stand alone, your love and the values you instilled in me are the most potent moral force in my life.
Indeed, life is beautiful with Jesus.
Much love
