Intentional Thanksgiving

FOCAL VERSE:

"Let them give thanks to the Lord for His unfailing love and His wonderful deeds for mankind." – Psalm 107:8 (NIV)

DEEP REFLECTION:

Gratitude is a choice that requires intention. Just as achieving a healthy body demands careful dieting and consistent exercise, giving thanks also involves a deliberate decision to focus on God’s goodness. True thanksgiving goes beyond seasonal celebrations or favorable circumstances; it is an ongoing act of worship that acknowledges God’s unfailing love and faithfulness.

Saying, “Abba, thank You,” isn’t always easy, especially in challenging times. Yet, it’s during those moments that purposeful gratitude shines the brightest. It shifts our perspective, helps us see God’s hand in our lives, and draws us closer to Him.

This week, let us commit to offering intentional praise—not just for what we’ve received but for who God is and how He continually works in our lives.

INTENTIONAL EXERCISE:

Every evening, write down three things you are grateful for, no matter how small.

Reflect on how these moments reveal God’s love and care.

Conclude each reflection with a prayer of thanksgiving.

INTENTIONAL THANKSGIVING:

Lord, thank You for Your unchanging love. Thank You for being my provider, protector, and guide. I praise You for every blessing—both seen and unseen—that enriches my life.

Abba, I offer You my deepest thanks. Amen.
