REFLECTION:
The life that we have is very precious and priceless. The breath of God in us indicates that we still have a reason to praise the Lord. Personally, I believe that our praise and thanks to God is our response to the blessedness of life in general. It is more or less like an affirmation of our existence and this fuels our livelihood. If we are able to live, move and have our being then, we are not forgotten. We still have an opportunity to respond to life just as we are.
Evil is present in this world but over and over again, our Covenant Keeping God reassures us that He’s the custodian of our lives and he’s responsible for our well being. When lives are lost we try to find out the reasons why. In our own capacity, we try to seek for the best treatments, training, institutions and systems for a better life. When they fail us we are somewhat filled with hurt, disappointment, resentment and bitterness. The truth of the matter is that, the best pilots, doctors, drivers, security agents and systems have failed before. They are only tagged as the best because they have more records of successes than failures. Their failures are not because they are irresponsible or inadequate but because they are human. The life that we have can not be granted by anyone. The measures we put in place can sustain us humanly but they can not give us life. Our Covenant Keeping God sees all things and knows all things; He is the keeper of us all ; both great and small. He is the keeper of the experts and the laymen all together. He has the whole world under His watch.
Intentional Thanksgiving requires unlimited trust in the unlimited God. The life we have is not our own. We are not necessarily entitled to life by default. I believe that we have an allegiance to the Lord over it. Intentional Thanksgiving requires an understanding that everything else can fail without God. He holds everything together. The focal text says that He continuously watches over us. He does this in delight. We can say that He loves His job. Systems may fail but the Covenant Keeping God never fails. Our presence here shows that He is still responsible for us and we need to trust Him to fulfill His responsibilities concerning us. God knows what He is doing or what to do with us but if we do not trust Him, we will will never be able to appreciate His mighty hand in our lives.

Do you have trust issues?
Why do you have these trust issues?
Do you trust God?
Why do you trust God or why don’t you trust God?
Don’t we all have a trust issues to an extent? Trust issues can affect our relationship with God. We need to trust God to be able to appreciate who He is and what He does for us. Beloved, if you are alive today, trust in God and may His praise continually be on your lips just as He keeps watch over you continually.
All through the day, acknowledge God in all your ways. Appreciate His constant watch over you. You are alive today only because He keeps watch over you. Hallelujah!
