The Journey

I am grateful to God for an amazing journey. I appreciate the growth so far. I am exceptionally grateful for the GROWcode initiative in partnership with Jesus Christ. It is my personal testimony of the goodness of God. It is a channel through which I share my encounters with God and experiences in life. I do not know everything but I will like to share a few lessons with you. I have learnt and I am still learning especially in these three areas; about life, myself and God.

Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me. All the days of my life; And I will dwell in the house of the Lord Forever. Ps 23:6

1. LIFE HAPPENS!
Life is not, will not and cannot be perfect because life happens. In fact, there is no such thing as perfect. No perfect time, no perfect way, no perfect moment, no perfect person, no perfect relationship and no perfect perfect. What we read and see are quite different in reality. In real time, things are not scripted you know? I have accepted that, it is best to start and rather correct mistakes along the way rather than waiting for everything to be perfect because we may never start while waiting. Even though we don’t need to rush, we do not have to delay unduly either.

What is more important is being good at what you do. Everyone appreciates and prefers quality. Therefore, plan well, do your best and own the moment. It is also wise to make allowances for life to happen. Some things can change and some things will never change but ‘you’ can change. When life happens, accept the outcomes, do what you can and move on. Always remember that you cannot fix everything. Seek the right form of help when you are struggling and try again or another way when you miss opportunities. It is important to make most of the time you have now. Prepare yourself, learn to be in the moment and enjoy the present. You cannot be in control of every outcome but you can learn to control how you handle what comes your way.

2. WHO YOU ARE!
Know who you are; build yourself and love who you are. Everyone is different– we hear that a lot but we really have to learn to embrace who we are. I believe everyone has a purpose to fulfill in life. You can be whoever you want to be in life but it is important to be who you really are. There is nothing as beautiful and fulfilling as living your authentic life. Thus, being who God has called and designed you to be. If you do not know who you are, you find it hard to focus on who you want to be. You will end up doing everything and nothing at the same time. Learn to differentiate between your inner voice and the expectations of others. Know when to say no when everyone is saying yes. Do not change your stance because you think the majority or dominant voices matter most. Your voice matters as well because you matter. Know why you are saying a no or a yes and own it. It helps you to speak volumes and allows your voice to resound.

Be very open, honest, transparent and true to your own self as well as the people you prioritize. People may know aspects of you but know yourself through and through. Know why you get angry, why you cry, why do not like crowd, what you react to, the type of clothes that look good on you, what makes you happy, how to refuel yourself and I mean everything that you can possibly know about you. It will not take a day but familiarize with learning you daily and fall in love with who you are. From my point of view, I think it will help if you fall in love with yourself first before falling in love with another person because it will help you to choose right and also help you to receive love well. Find reasons to like every single thing about yourself because you are priceless. Know where you want to be in life and build yourself up for it on your way there.

Build yourself in every area of your life; mentally, physically, emotionally, financially, spiritually, etc so that you can become the best version of yourself daily. Every area of your life matters so do not neglect any. It is really hard to work on yourself in the now but trust me, it will save you a lot of trouble in future. There are certain things about yourself that if you do not change, no one can. Therefore, being responsible for who you are and the choices you make will be the best gift you can ever give to yourself. Your life is yours to live out. No one can do this life better than you do. In effect, do not allow what is outside of you to scare you. You are more than enough.

3. GOD IS REAL!
Connect to God and have a personal relationship with the Holy Spirit. Accept Jesus as your Lord and personal savior. I can’t say this any better. I really do not know how people are doing this life without Jesus but for me, I do not know where I will be without Jesus. This life belongs to God alone and He knows how best to navigate it. There are things that we simply cannot do unless God grants it to us. We can do everything humanly possible to protect ourselves but we can die at any given moment. Covid is the best example that we are not in control of our lives. Learning to trust God in all of our ways is our ticket to daily joy and peace. Hardwork pays off but it cannot compete with the favor of God. It takes the grace of God to sustain this life. We are nothing without the breath of God in us. It is important to know God for yourself because it builds you and confirms who you are. Through the study of the word, prayer, fasting, thanksgiving and fellowship we grow and become better. When all is said and done, every knee will bow and every tongue will confess that He is Lord and God alone. Accept Jesus as your Lord and personal savior today. Salvation is free.

I always say that living a successful and profitable life is more challenging because easy is ordinary. There are a lot of things that we wish we could do. If we all did what we already knew to do; this life would be a better place. There is a thin line between knowing to do and being able to do. On our own, we cannot make it– but with Christ all things are possible.
