BEHOLDING GOD’S GOODNESS.
FOCAL TEXT: Genesis 1

Intentional Thanksgiving.
I am a beneficiary of God’s goodness and I testify over and over again.
Whenever I reflect upon my life, I see how God has been in the picture right from day one.
Growing up in a priesthood home, I became so used to the atmosphere of God’s goodness to the extent that I began to trivialize its normalcy.
As a young adult, I began to experience a turn in my life due to life’s challenges. It was then that I realized how ungrateful I had been in the past.
I had enjoyed God’s favor, protection, love, wisdom and peace on a regular basis and I thought it was just normal.
Yes! All these are our divine heritage as children of God and I encourage us to walk in it daily but this should not to be taken for granted in any way.
One day, I broke down in tears and in deep worship. All I could do was cry and say “O Lord I’m sorry! O Lord thank you!” for a long while.

I had been overwhelmed about a situation and was consumed in seeking for an answered prayer. In prayer, I realized that indeed I had been blessed beyond measure. I realized that most of the things I had trivialized were some people’s constant prayer points and I was so ashamed of myself. I deeply repented and from that day, my prayer life and prayer topics changed. I began to experience the heart of God and His perspective about occurrences.
Sometimes, we believe and confess that God is good but the truth of the matter is that most of us (if not everyone; I have been a victim) just get so consumed in our interests that we forget about God in totality.
Everything God does for us is an invitation for us to behold Him in another way and another dimension.
Indeed everything is already ours but He desires us to know that He is good, faithful, powerful, mighty and everything He truly is in addition to what He can do for us.
Intentional Thanksgiving grants us the opportunity to be aware of who God truly is and how He’s shown up in our lives as a saviour, helper, comforter, protector, provider, strengthener and so on.
In Genesis 1 we can see how God took His time to create all things we ever needed before making us. Everything He made was in order and in precision. One step at a time. One thing to the other. At every step He saw all of them and they were good. They were good for us.
I believe in God turning situations around. I also believe in demonic operations that need to dealt with. However, if we would take a pause to see things from God’s perspective and give Him the chance to walk us through the process one step at a time; we will begin to connect the dots and realize that we are indeed headed towards a glorious end.
There are a lot of factors that hinder the manifestation of our blessings or testimonies but personally I believe that sometimes, what seems to be a delay our denial to us is simply our inability to realize what God is teaching us in the moment or season.
Intentional Thanksgiving opens our eyes to see what we already have and grants us access to that which we desire earnestly.
It helps us to pay attention to the details in the story God is writing with our lives and sets us up into alignment for the fulfillment of our riches in glory.
He’s a good God so everything he makes and does is out of His goodness.
