ACCESS TO THE UNLIMITED GOD

WEEK 2: JOB 15-28
FOCAL VERSE:
“I need someone to mediate between God and me, as a person mediates between friends.”
Job 16:21 NLT
DEEP REFLECTION:
The book of Job brings insight to the question we mostly ask: Why do the righteous face adversity?
The first fourteen chapters outlined Job’s prosperity and testing, his affliction, laments about his birth as well as dialogues and debates with his three friends—Eliphaz, Bildad, and Zophar.
In context Job’s reply to his friends declared and emphasized on God’s sovereignty which is to say that God is ultimately in charge.
Through our studies we realized that it is not everything that happens to us in life that is necessarily because we did everything right or wrong.
In the next fourteen chapters (15-28), the dialogue and debate with his friends continues. They all share their perspectives about the nature of God as well as the opinion concerning Job’s affliction.
Job expresses the unlimited nature of God in details in his dialogues. In our focal text for today, Job yearned for a mediator thus, a direct access to God. He needed someone to plead his case for him before God. This quest of his shows how blessed we are in our days to have Jesus who is our mediator—one who pleads our case to be right before God.
“For, There is one God and one Mediator who can reconcile God and humanity—the man Christ Jesus.”
1 Timothy 2:5 NLT
We have been reconciled with GOD through Christ Jesus. Therefore we have access to the unlimited God. When we receive Christ and accept His Lordship; we receive grace to walk with the mindset and knowledge that we are approved. Therefore, we need to manifest the package that comes with our approval daily as we live.
We oftentimes desire to have someone who can defend us and stand in for us in circumstances that need an intervention. There are times that we have no words or nothing to show forth for. There are times we just do not know what to do and we feel helplessly in need of a mediator. But Grace be unto God for Christ Jesus!
In Christ, we have been made one with the unlimited God. We have been been made right through Christ to have access to God almighty. In Him is life and we are alive in Him. In Him lies all power, authority and everything that pertains to life and godliness. We are indeed blessed and privileged to be partners and partakers of the glorious riches in heavenly places. Hallelujah!
