MERCY CRIES OUT!

SCRIPTURE READING: GENESIS 20
FOCAL VERSE:
“Then Abraham prayed to God, and God healed Abimelech, and also healed his wife and female slaves so that they bore children.” – Genesis 20:17 ESV
DEEP REFLECTION:
What if you were Abimelech? Wasn’t it Abraham who deceived you? So why did God warn you?
Here’s the truth—God fiercely protects those with whom He has a covenant. When Scripture says that all things work together for the good of those who love Him, it also reveals how He actively defends His own.
In His mercy, God intervened for Abimelech, preventing him from sinning. But that same mercy also shielded Abraham, ensuring that Sarah remained undefiled and preserving the lineage through which Isaac would be born.
God’s mercy speaks even when we feel unworthy, lifting us to a higher place.
PRAYER POINTS:
A deeper revelation of God’s love for us as His children.
That God’s jealousy will arise and defend us.
That His mercy will speak for us whenever we find ourselves in a situation like Abimelech’s.
INTENTIONAL EXERCISE:
Identify the fears that cause you to compromise your values. (What makes you give your Sarah to Abimelech out of fear?)
Ask God to heal and renew your mindset.
