A PARTNERSHIP TRUST II

FOCAL VERSE

Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths. Be not wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord, and turn away from evil. It will be healing to your flesh and refreshment to your bones

PROVERBS 3:5-8 ESV

DEEP REFLECTION

Topping up on our topic for last week, it is advisable we as a people (Christians) develop the attitude of trusting God with our all. In every partnership, trust is the anchor that keeps the relationship moving. Employing poor communications and lackadaisical attitudes often do break the solidest of partnerships. Many a Kingdom/Empire broke up due to trust being broken/neglected. From our scripture for the week, one can see how the writer emphasised on the need to avoid being wise in our own ways. Here, the writer is resounding the need to always fear God per all our engagements.

The fear here simply means opening up to God about everything before employing them. Now, can a bank issue out transactions without the appropriate authorities giving a veto? The answer is a no. Likewise we have to employ when it comes to our relationship with God. We need his veto to aid us do life and do it effectively. However, unlike the banking sector, He doesn’t force us. He offers a free will approach. We many a time take this favourable approach for granted and do whatever we deem fit and not what HE deems fit.

Christianity is centred on a partnership walk with God, the better you develop your relationship with God, the excellent the pact becomes. God loves us all but has diverse relationships with us all. You cannot be consistent without committing. From the early patriarchs to the present, we see how important consistency in committing to the partnership with God is. No one can reap where they didn’t sow. More, with our human relations, the more committed and consistent you are with developing a relationship with family or loved one, the better the relation improves.

To end, it is high time with all engaged consistency and commitment in our walks with God. For trust to work, we have to lay it all open whenever we approach or communicate with God. The open our relationship is, the better we will get to know Him, His Son and the HolySpirit.
