GROWING IN DIVINE INTIMACY

FOCAL VERSE:
“Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you.”
- James 4:8 ESV
DEEP REFLECTION:
When you think of intimacy with God, what comes to mind? For me, it’s like standing in front of someone who knows every hidden part of you—the good, the bad, the parts you’re still figuring out—and still loves you completely. Divine intimacy isn’t about ticking spiritual boxes or rehearsing perfect prayers; it’s about a raw, open heart before God.
This year’s theme, Come Up Higher (Rev 4:1), is God’s personal invitation to you. It’s a call to leave distractions behind, to shift from casual encounters to a meaningful, consistent walk with Him. But here’s the truth: intimacy takes time. It’s built in the quiet moments, the whispered prayers, and even in the uncomfortable silence when you’re not sure what to say to God.
This week, ask yourself, Am I drawing near to God with my whole heart, or just the parts that are easy to surrender? Reflect on what’s holding you back—fear, busyness, doubt—and bring it all to Him. You’ll find that He’s been waiting for you, ready to draw close and lead you deeper than you’ve ever been.
INTENTIONAL EXERCISE:
Each day this week, spend 15 minutes alone with God. No distractions, no requests—just sit in His presence. Write down your thoughts, feelings, or even the silence. What is God saying to your heart?
SOUL PRAYER:
Lord, You are the center of my longing. Teach me to seek You not just with my lips but with my whole heart. Help me to quiet the noise, to surrender my fears, and to rest in Your love. Draw me into a deeper, more intimate walk with You. Amen.
