THE CALL TO ABIDE

FOCAL VERSE:

“Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you.” – ‭‭James‬ ‭4‬:‭8‬ ‭ESV‬

DEEP REFLECTION:

You know that season when God feels distant? You pray, read the Word, yet something feels missing. It’s like going through motions without connection.

I’ve been there. But in that moment of stillness, I sensed God’s whisper: “Come up higher.”

I’ve realized that divine intimacy isn’t about doing more but being with Him. Sitting with Him, not just speaking but listening. Lingering, not rushing. It’s in those quiet moments that His presence becomes real, that the longing in our hearts is filled.

God isn’t calling us to strive; He’s calling us to abide. The more we make space for Him, the more we realize—He never left.

INTENTIONAL EXERCISE:

This week, dedicate 10 minutes each day to simply being with God—no speaking, no asking, just sitting in His presence. Find a quiet space, relax, and focus on Him. If any thoughts, scriptures, or emotions arise, write them down. At the end of the week, review your notes and reflect on what God may be showing you through the silence.

SOUL PRAYER:

Lord, I don’t just want to go through the motions—I want You. Draw me closer, teach me to dwell in Your presence, and help me recognize Your voice. Remove distractions and deepen my hunger for You. Let my faith be real, my prayers sincere, and my heart fully surrendered. I long for more of You, Lord. Amen.

DIG DEEP READING PLAN:

Monday: James 4:8 – Write down ways you can intentionally draw closer to God.

Tuesday: Psalm 27:4 – Meditate on what it means to desire God above all.

Wednesday: John 15:4-5 – Reflect on areas where you need to rely more on God’s presence.

Thursday: Exodus 33:14 – List moments in your life when you’ve felt God’s presence.

Friday: Philippians 3:10 – Write a prayer expressing your hunger to know God more.
