DON’T SETTLE HALFWAY

SCRIPTURE READING: Genesis 11:27-32
FOCAL VERSE:
“Terah took his son Abram, his grandson Lot son of Haran, and his daughter-in-law Sarai, the wife of his son Abram, and together they set out from Ur of the Chaldeans to go to Canaan. But when they came to Harran, they settled there.”- Genesis 11:31 NIV
DEEP REFLECTION:
Terah began a journey to Canaan but never arrived. Instead, he settled in Haran and remained there until he died. In contrast, Abraham obeyed God completely and walked into the promise.
How often do we start something in obedience but stop short of God’s full plan? Maybe we once had a strong prayer life but got distracted. Perhaps God gave us a vision, but delays or difficulties made us stop pursuing it.
Settling halfway may feel comfortable, but it’s not where God’s best is. He calls us higher, deeper, and further into His promises. Like Abraham, we must take steps of faith, trusting that God’s plan is worth the journey.
PRAYER POINTS:
Ask God for clarity and courage to pursue His complete will.
Pray for grace to walk by faith, even when the path is unclear.
INTENTIONAL EXERCISE:
Identify one area in your life where you’ve settled and take a step toward God’s full promise.
Write down one thing God is calling you to step into.
