RISING ABOVE LOSSES

SCRIPTURE READING: Genesis 23

FOCAL VERSE:

“She died at Kiriath Arba (that is, Hebron) in the land of Canaan, and Abraham went to mourn for Sarah and to weep over her.” -‭‭ Genesis‬ ‭23‬:‭2‬ ‭NIV‬‬

DEEP REFLECTION:

The death of Sarah marked a significant moment in Abraham’s journey—a moment of deep sorrow and loss. Abraham had walked with God through countless challenges, but this was different. In his grief, he rose to honor Sarah by securing a burial place, demonstrating faith even in mourning.

Life brings moments of loss and pain that can feel overwhelming. Yet, like Abraham, we must find the strength to keep moving forward, trusting that God remains faithful. Rising above losses means choosing hope, even when the weight of grief is heavy. It’s about holding on to God, believing that His promises remain intact despite our pain.

Our journey of “Coming Up Higher” in Christ doesn’t mean we won’t face losses. It means we rise above them through faith, leaning on God’s presence and comfort.

PRAYER POINTS:

Pray for strength and grace to rise above personal losses.

Ask God for healing in areas of your life marked by grief or pain.

Pray for faith to trust God’s plan, even when it hurts.

INTENTIONAL EXERCISE:

Reflect on a loss you’ve faced and how God has been present in your journey.

Reach out to someone going through a difficult time and offer encouragement.
