HONOURING COMMITMENT WITH INTEGRITY

SCRIPTURE READING: Genesis 23:10-20

FOCAL VERSE:

“So Ephron’s field in Machpelah near Mamre—both the field and the cave in it, and all the trees within the borders of the field—was deeded to Abraham as his property in the presence of all the Hittites who had come to the gate of the city.” – Genesis 23:17-18 (NIV)

DEEP REFLECTION:

Integrity is a mark of true faith. In Genesis 23, Abraham sought to buy a burial place for Sarah, and although the Hittites offered it for free, he insisted on paying the full price. This act reflects his deep sense of honour, fairness, and commitment to doing things the right way.

In a world where shortcuts and compromises are often encouraged, Abraham’s example reminds us that integrity matters. Honoring commitments, conducting business honestly, and treating others fairly reflect God’s character in us. When we walk in integrity, we build trust, demonstrate godly wisdom, and honor God in our daily lives.

Are there areas in your life where you need to uphold greater integrity? Let today be a reminder to always act with honesty and fairness, knowing that God blesses those who walk in righteousness.

PRAYER POINTS:

Ask God for a heart that values integrity and honorscommitments.

Pray for wisdom in handling financial and relational dealings with honesty.

Thank God for the opportunity to reflect His character in everyday decisions.

INTENTIONAL EXERCISE:

Reflect on a recent decision or commitment. Were you fully honest and fair? If not, take steps to correct it.

Identify one way you can demonstrate integrity this week—whether in your workplace, family, or personal commitments.
