DAY 10

His Faithful; Our Faithfulness.

FOCAL VERSE :
Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful.

Hebrews 10:23 NKJV

Partnership with the Holy Spirit.

DEEP REFLECTION :

As Christians, our core reflection of faithfulness stems from believing God to be Who He says He is and acknowledging that He will do what he said He would do. God’s word is sure and true. All His promises are Yes and Amen. God is faithful in nature; likewise, in our relationship with him, our firm belief despite the vagaries of life reflect our faithfulness to God and His word concerning us.

Hebrews 10-11 outlines some heroes of faith (Abraham, Enoch, Noah, etc) who were able to reflect this quality of faithfulness in their walk with God.
Holding onto God’s Word during trying times can be difficult however, with the help of the Holy Spirit we certainly can. The word of God is made alive in us day by day when we fellowship with the sweet Spirit of God. He helps us to see happenstances in God’s perspective by revealing what He might be teaching us in the season. This in turn strengthens our faith and trust in God.

Humans are faithless without God’s word. What the Holy Spirit deposits in us, helps us to be faithful to God just as He is faithful to us in all things. Our ability to guard our faith in God makes the difference. It is the best way to portray our very essence us Christians to the whole world because, God is the rewarder of those who dillegently seek Him. The results of our faithfulness are the unprecedented testimonies we receive by the reason of our victory in Christ Jesus.

10 “Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much, and whoever is dishonest with very little will also be dishonest with much. 11 So if you have not been trustworthy in handling worldly wealth, who will trust you with true riches? 12 And if you have not been trustworthy with someone else’s property, who will give you property of your own? – Luke 16 : 10 – 12 NIV

From this text we realize that faithfulness should be demonstrated in all things and not some things. Faithfulness is also a character trait and our true character is who we are when no one is looking or clapping. The Holy Spirit helps us to be truthful, reliable, loyal, faithful as we submit to Him.
Ever wondered why many employers seek information from previous workplaces? This is because they see past performances as indicators of good or bad performers. They believe that who we are will eventually show up in new roles and that could be a reflection of the character within us.

Who we serve should influence how we serve and how we serve should be a model to others. Each and every day, we get to experience the faithfulness of God because we are in a relationship with God (we serve) and he shows us his faithfulness each and every day so we are able to reflect who he is.

Our loyalty should reflect our commitment to Christ and because we are loyal to Him. Even when other people do not deserve our loyalty to them, we maintain consistent in our commitment to be true and true to do what is right no matter what.
Which means we can be reliable and trustworthy;
— with our jobs, whether we have a good boss or a bad boss,
— in our relationships when we are dealing with honest & dishonest people,
— when we’re in a good mood or a bad mood because it’s about character, it’s about the holy spirit working to produce within us a character that says “I want to be just like Jesus”
And because we want to be like Jesus, we want to be consistent in holding on to the truth of the gospel and the standards of God.

SOUL PRAYER :

Dear God, I thank you for your fruit of faithfulness at work in my life. I desire to remain faithful to you and your word concerning my life. Please help me to take consideration of the little things that matter so I can be more trustworthy, reliable, loyal and faithful in order to model you. In Jesus name. Amen.

INTENTIONAL EXERCISE :

Do you believe in God’s word concerning your present circumstance?
Do you honor your commitments?
Take a step on being faithful today by examining your own heart. Challenge yourself to meet that deadline and also by doing the little things you think do not matter.
