Hey Beautiful Soul
Take a PAUSE and PRAISE the LORD.
HALLELUJAH!

My help comes from the Lord, Who made heaven and earth.
Ps 121:2 NKJV

Help!!!!
Help me!!!!
I need your help!!!!

This is a word that draws people’s attention easily. It’s in our nature to respond to help–either to be of help or to receive a level of help. Everyone needs help. Everyone needs somebody. I personally believe that whenever, we are in need of help, it portrays our humanity not our inadequacies. One ability of God that I personally seek daily is His help. I know very well that I’m limited in capacity in a lot of ways so I always yearn for the support of the Holy Spirit almost everyday. I always say, that on my own, I can’t make it but with Christ all things are possible. I believe in the mighty hand of God. His hand is mighty to save. And he’s ready to give us a hand through everything because that is who he is. In him, I am strong, capable and whole.

What is your reaction after you receive help? I think we sometimes refuse help because we don’t want to attribute our success to anyone else. However, for us to be able to practice Intentional Thanksgiving effectively, we need to be able to acknowledge that we are who we are and where we are only because of the grace, mercy and favor of God. He makes things possible in His way and also through people. We didn’t arrive by our own means. Yes, God honors steps but it is only His grace that makes it possible for us to make progress. Without Him, we are nothing. Without His breath, we cannot achieve anything smoothly.

Our text says that God made heaven and earth.
He made the earth and everything in it.
Our God made everything. That’s right!
He made everything we see and cannot see.
That means there is nothing beyond His ability and control.
He made the stars, the mountains the insects and the beasts in the fields. Most importantly, He made us; you and I. We are His golden treasure.
Every single thing ; both great and small were made by Him.
He’s the Lord of everything.

Most of the time we try to help ourselves or think some of our requests are not necessary to ask God. Mainly because as humans, we naturally like to be in control of our personal affairs. We don’t like to look vulnerable because we don’t want anyone to look down on us or take advantage of our weaknesses. I think that our ability to present ourselves to God just the way we are– in our brokenness, in our pain, in our successes and wins really shows how much we appreciate who He is. I mean, you only go to someone who you believe can help you right? Likewise, not going to God could mean that you do not believe in His help concerning a matter. I am of the view that we can show appreciation to God better when we give up control and allow him into our daily affairs. After all, he made us and knows everything about us thus: he can manage this life we have better than we can. We are now getting to know who we are but he already knows who we truly are.

Culture has taught us to be there for ourselves first. In effect we try to extend that into our relationship with God. We try to help God indirectly with our actions. But he’s God all by himself. He doesn’t need a man to be who is. He should be our first point of call rather than our last resort. He’s the COVENANT KEEPING GOD. What he saith that he will do, that is what He will do. Hallelujah!

INTENTIONAL EXERCISE :
What are you trying to help yourself with?
Take a pause and reflect on the areas you have been helpful to yourself. I mean areas that you have shielded out of sight. It must have been tiring right? Imagine yourself climbing a hill with a heavy load or a bruised ankle and later handing the load or yourself all over to someone who is willing to help because He owns a truck which can assist perfectly.

How do you feel?
Relieved and grateful right?
Will it be possible for you to go through the day with that feeling? What is that one thing you wish you could get sorted?
Can you try give up control?

We were made so we are limited in capacity. Giving up control doesn’t mean doing nothing but acknowledging that you can’t determine the outcomes. The when, how and where can only be handled by the unlimited God.
Try to imagine your situation sorted out and praise God for it already.
God is highly interested in your joy and peace.
With him, your freedom is assured.
All through the day, practice exchanging the burden of keeping things under your control for His freedom. Hallelujah!

INTENTIONAL THANKSGIVING:
O Covenant keeping God! Creator of the universe! Our Helper!
What can’t you do?
You are more than able to do what you said you would do.
You said it and you did it.
You have said it and you will do.
Thank you for making me worthy and taking me just as I am.
I am eternally grateful that I have you and you have me.
I’m deeply sorry for the times I trivialized or refused you in my life.
I’ll forever acknowledge you in all my ways from this very moment.
Thank you for the relief that comes with receiving your help.
It is the best thing that ever happened to me.
Hallelujah!
