JOURNALING: DEEPENING MY FAITH
FOCUS OF THE WEEK:
Journaling is an invitation to walk intimately with God through writing. More than a habit, it is a tool for spiritual growth, a record of divine encounters, and a way to strengthen faith.
FOCAL VERSE:
“Then the Lord said to Moses, ‘Write this on a scroll as something to be remembered and make sure that Joshua hears it…’” – Exodus 17:14 (NIV)
DEEP REFLECTION:
Throughout Scripture, God instructed His people to write as a way to preserve His works and clarify His vision. The Bible itself is a testament to the power of written words. Journaling helps us document God’s faithfulness, understand our spiritual journey, and create space to hear from Him.
Looking back at journal entries can reveal answered prayers, divine direction, and reminders of God’s presence. Writing is an act of faith—helping us hold onto what God is speaking to us.
SOUL PRAYER:
Lord, thank You for the gift of writing. Help me embrace journaling as a way to grow spiritually. May my words reflect Your truth and be a testimony of Your faithfulness. Guide me to record, reflect, and respond to Your voice. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
INTENTIONAL EXERCISE:
Set aside 10 minutes daily to journal about:
• A moment you felt God’s presence.
• A prayer request on your heart.
• A scripture that speaks to you.
Reflect on how writing deepens your awareness of God’s movement in your life.
SCRIPTURES FOR THE WEEK:
• Habakkuk 2:2 – “Write the vision and make it plain…”
• Jeremiah 30:2 – “Write in a book all the words I have spoken to you.”
• Psalm 102:18 – “Let this be written for a future generation, that a people not yet created may praise the Lord.”
• Deuteronomy 31:19 – “Now therefore, write ye this song for you, and teach it to the children of Israel…”
This is a GROWcode_ initiative in partnership with Jesus Christ. Stay connected to grow. Much love.
